Information for Guests

We look forward to welcoming you to Homme House and hope you will enjoy your time with us. Below is some useful information when planning your visit.

We are doing everything we can to ensure our home is as safe as possible for the weddings we will host this year. The measures we have put in place are as follows:

Every member of the Homme team has been briefed on the latest Government advice on safe working and advised re preventative measures, including vigilance about frequent hand washing, avoiding physical contact and if feeling unwell to self-isolate at home

A single, private entrance with handwashing station is in place for our team to use on entry to the building

Disposable gloves, handwash and hand gel have been provided for anyone working in the house

The housekeeping staff have been equipped with deep cleaning equipment and additional protocols to ensure that high touch, high risk surfaces such as doorknobs, bannisters, bathrooms and loos are regularly disinfected

Handwashing facilities with hand sanitiser, tissues and disposable towels, and signage to remind the recommended approach to hand washing, are available for all visitors & guests (those visiting for show rounds are asked to wash their hands on arrival).

The main entrance gates of Homme House are adjacent to St. Bartholomew’s Church in Much Marcle. The church can be reached up a lane from the B4024 Much Marcle – Dymock road which runs through the village. If coming via the A449 from either the Ross-on-Wye or Ledbury direction, the turning for the B4024 is beside the Walwyn Arms Pub in the centre of the village.

From the entrance gates, a private drive through parkland and past lakes ends at a left turn which leads to the car park and house.

If driving via satnav, use ‘St. Bartholomew’s Church, Much Marcle’ to find our main entrance gates (our postcode is not reliable for navigation).

Feel free to download detailed directions and a map here.

There is a gravel drop off area immediately in front of the house. You are welcome to pause there to unload passengers and luggage. We would be very grateful if you would then park in the paddock car park below the house.

We have ample parking in our paddock car park below the house. If attending a wedding or event at Homme you are welcome to leave your car overnight and collect it on the following morning.

Guests staying in the Coach House are welcome to park directly outside in the stable yard at the back of the house.

If you are attending a church wedding at St. Bartholomew’s in Much Marcle, you are welcome to park at Homme prior to the service. The church is situated on the edge of the Homme House Estate a 10 minute walk along the drive through Homme’s beautiful parkland.

All of the wedding accommodation available at Homme is reserved for and in the gift of the Bride and Groom, so please check with the couple whose wedding you are attending if you are hoping to stay at Homme. The check in time for all accommodation is 3pm, and check out 12pm on the day of departure.

Continental breakfasts are provided on each morning of your stay. At the request of the couple a family cooked breakfast can be served on the morning following the wedding in the main dining room, at the time of the couple’s choosing. A cooked breakfast costs an additional £12 per person.

Please inform the couple whose wedding you are attending if you have any specific requirements and we will do our best to help. We have two cots, two high chairs (more can be hired), and a dedicated baby changing loo for use by parents.

If you have any specific dietary requirements please inform the couple whose wedding you are attending as soon as possible so that the necessary catering arrangements can be made.

Please don’t hesitate to get in touch to discuss any considerations or specific requirements for your visit. For wheelchair users a permanent ramp at the front of the house and a short removable ramp allow access to the ground floor reception rooms, where there is a loo with wheelchair access. Unfortunately due to the historic nature of the house there is no wheelchair access to the accommodation on the first and second floors.

Due to the presence of livestock on the Estate we unfortunately do not allow pets to visit Homme. Thank you for your understanding.

Weddings at Homme finish at 11:45pm and all non-resident guests must have departed the premises by 12:15am. Please download our list of local taxi options for pre-booking prior to the day.

For guests not staying at Homme House there are plenty of good local accommodation options available. We encourage prompt booking to ensure availability and welcome feedback on your experience.
