The Hommedinger

A Roaring 20s Summer Ball

2024 is our 20th anniversary year as a wedding venue. Join us to mark this special milestone on the 29th June 2024 for a Roaring 20s Ball in celebration of 20 years.

Drinks and canapés on arrival will be followed by a delicious 3 course meal served by the wonderful team from A2Zest. The evening will unfold with silent and live charity auctions, a cash/card bar serving signature cocktails and a range of other drinks provided by our wedding bar partner Riverbank Bars, as well as live music provided by Olivier award winner Lorna Want, and Electroswing DJ Jamie Berry. Dinner and dancing will be in a marquee on the Main Lawn, with the surrounding gardens open for a wander in the (fingers crossed!) evening sunshine.

All proceeds from sponsorship, ticket sales, donations and auction prizes on the night will go to St. Michael’s Hospice in its 40th anniversary year.

Hommedinger Sponsors

We are enormously grateful to the following companies who have supercharged our fundraising drive with generous donations each:

Hommedinger Supporters

The Hommedinger and our fundraising aims would not be possible without the incredible support of some brilliant Herefordshire businesses, many of whom have supported us in the weddings we have hosted over the last 20 years. Particular thanks go to:

Aisle Hire It, Vintage Gold China, Alba Tableware, The Ledbury Flower Farmer, Rural Floral, Jenny Fleur, The Herefordshire Flower Studio, The Beehive Florist and The Fabulous Florist, much loved regular visitors to Homme for weddings, for their help with donated items and skills for the styling of the marquee.

Snow White Laundries, our laundry partner for weddings at Homme, for the very generous donation of the table cloths, and Special Occasion Linen for the very generous donation of the table napkins.

St. Michael’s Hospice

The central aim of the Ball will be to raise as much money as possible for St. Michael’s Hospice, who will be celebrating their 40th anniversary in 2024.

1 in 2 people in the UK will develop some form of cancer in their lifetime, and over 75% of the £10m+ required to run the Hospice annually needs to be found through private donations, so ongoing support of this vital Herefordshire institution is critical. The Hospice team works tirelessly, caring for over 2,000 in and outpatients and their families every year across 30 different Herefordshire postcodes with 17 services of support.

Like so many families in Herefordshire, our connection with the Hospice is a personal one. John died in July 2023 after a long battle with cancer, and in his last weeks was cared for brilliantly by the wonderful team at St. Michael’s Hospice, both in Bartestree and at Homme. We are incredibly grateful to the team for all they did for him, and are dedicating all our fundraising efforts this year to their cause in his memory.

Getting Here

Google Maps: use ‘Homme House
Satnav/other mapping: use ‘St. Bartholomew’s Church, Much Marcle’ for Estate Entrance
W3W: ///candle.precluded.unravel for Estate Entrance

Guests should arrive and depart via our main entrance gates, which are adjacent to St. Bartholomew’s Church in Much Marcle. The church can be reached up the lane from the B4024 Much Marcle – Dymock road which runs through the village.

If coming via the A449 from either the Ross-on-Wye or Ledbury direction, the turning for the B4024 is beside the Walwyn Arms Pub in the centre of the village.

The parkland drive will bring drivers down the parking areas closer to the house, with marshalls coordinating parking at the start of the event.

The booking process will offer the opportunity to indicate whether priority parking close to the house is essential for anyone in your party. Those needing priority parking will be allocated spaces as close as possible to the house.

Download directions to Homme House here.

Taxis are in short supply in rural Herefordshire so do pre-book in advance if you plan to use a taxi service at the start and/or end of the evening. The evening will start at 7pm and finish at 2pm, so taxis should be arranged for no later than 1:45am. A list of local taxi numbers can be downloaded below.

Some options if you plan to book accommodation locally.

We look forward to welcoming you to Homme for a night of celebration, reminiscence, fun and fundraising! Ding on.
