How special a wedding is has nothing to do with its size, but everything to do with the presence of those you love most. If you have an elopement, micro or small wedding in mind, we hope that our midweek wedding offering at Homme will allow you to hold an intimate wedding celebration in the beautiful surroundings of our family home, with no minimum number of guests and the option for either daytime only or daytime + evening hire to suit your vision for the day.
Homme’s elegant reception rooms provide plenty of space for celebrating with friends and family, but in a homely environment with the flexibility of different spaces to ensure a seamless flow and intimate feel to the day.
We offer exclusive use of Homme’s reception rooms and gardens for the period of the wedding on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (excluding the period between mid December and New Year).
Preparations
RELAXED PREPARATIONS FROM 8AM
The Main Suite, with its light and spacious bedroom, en suite bathroom and adjacent Drawing Room, is made available from 8am on the morning of the wedding if you have not stayed the night before and provides an ideal space for preparations on the morning of the wedding.
The Ceremony
HALL · PANELLED ROOM · DINING ROOM · SUMMERHOUSE
Homme has four spaces licensed for civil ceremonies, providing a range of options depending on the size of the group, weather and time of year.
For elopements and micro weddings the main Hall, with the backdrop of its flying staircase, and the upper chamber of our Walled Garden Summerhouse provide intimate settings for your vows. For larger groups the Panelled Room in the house, Main Lawn and Walled Garden all provide beautiful settings for the ceremony.
Church Services
ST. BARTHOLOMEW’S CHURCH · LESS THAN A MILE TO ‘I DO’
St. Bartholomew’s is conveniently situated at the end of the parkland drive just 1000m from Homme, a lovely walk or short drive from the house. The church is very welcoming to couples resident outside the parish, and would simply ask that you attend one service a month for six months in the build up to your wedding to establish the qualifying connection to be married in the church.
The Reception
NO CORKAGE · 5 ACRES OF GARDENS TO EXPLORE
The house and grounds provide myriad options for a wedding reception. The Main Lawn, Upper Lawn, Rose Garden and Summerhouse lawn are all options for reception drinks, with plenty of other areas for photographs and for guests to enjoy.
We offer all our couples complete corkage-free flexibility on drink choices, allowing you to source and enjoy exactly what you would like to drink on your wedding day.
The Wedding Breakfast
NO SET MENUS · NO PREFERRED IN HOUSE CATERER
If you have a sit down meal in mind, the Main Lawn offers a beautiful space for dining al fresco, whether banqueting, hay bale or picnic style. In the house both the main Dining Room and the Panelled Room are available, with the option of banqueting style seating, a u-shaped arrangement or individual dining tables to suit your guest numbers and plans. Alternatively you might prefer to relax in comfort in the Library to enjoy an afternoon tea with close family and friends.
We do not prescribe a preferred, in house caterer giving you the flexibility to choose the perfect caterer for your wedding day, either from our list of trusted, recommended suppliers or another you have set your heart on.
Evening Celebrations
FLEXIBLE BAR OPTIONS · SLEEP UP TO 32 AT HOMME
If you plan to have an evening celebration music and dancing takes place inside the house, with the Panelled Room, Hall and Dining Room all options. The Library, with its open fire, provides a comfy space in which guests can relax, while the front of the house is perfect if you have street food, sparklers or fire bowls in mind.
If you would prefer not to provide all the drinks for your wedding day, we can arrange a pay bar for the evening reception, for which prices are matched to local Herefordshire pubs.
And at the end of the celebrations with guest accommodation for up to 32 at Homme, there is plenty of space should you wish to stay here at Homme across the period of your ‘small but perfectly formed’ wedding.
