From St. Bartholomew’s Church, our private drive winds its way through historic parkland, past lakes and through woodland to reveal the house and unspoilt rural views.
From there, our five acres of gardens are full of interest through the seasons. Early in the year banks of snowdrops and daffodils abound. These give way to the bluebells, tulips and wisterias of spring and early summer, the walled garden wildflower meadow and vibrant autumn colours of the woodland glades and parkland trees.
Main Lawn
Our Main Lawn is spacious and flat so ideal if you would like to use it for a fete, circus performance or garden games. It is also perfect for a wedding ceremony or dining space, whether formal marquee or a simple and intimate afternoon tea.
Water & Bog Gardens
Below the Lawn, guests and couples can wander Cherry Walk to discover the secluded Water Garden and Bog Garden beyond, with its hidden swing seat.
Rose Garden
The Upper Lawn leads through a wisteria covered gateway to the secluded Rose Garden, a perfect space for intimate blessings. Full of scented, ornamental roses, there is also an impressive magnolia tree and a beech arch leading through to the 2 acre Walled Garden beyond.
Walled Garden
Our two acre Walled Garden is a much loved project full of interest through the seasons. Amongst the highlights are the espalier walkway of old Herefordshire apple varieties, the long borders, pleached hornbeam and, of course, the wild flower meadow.
Summerhouse
The crowning glory of the Walled Garden is our Grade I listed 17th century Summerhouse – restored from near collapse in 2011 – which has been given new life as a unique backdrop for wedding ceremonies, reception drinks and an overnight bolthole for romantics.
Woodland
Our woods are beautiful throughout the seasons – carpeted in bluebells in springtime, full of dappled sunlight through the beech trees in summertime, and filled with glorious colour in the autumn.
Parkland
The parkland is a romantic place for photographs, particularly when the grass is long and full of wildflowers. It’s well worth the extra effort to be able to look back on Homme House from a distance.
